The Wine Shop & Tasting Room in Lynn, MA You Need to Visit

In the culture-packed city of Lynn, Massachusetts you’ll find Lucille Wine Shop. You’re in for a treat; it’s the city’s first and only female-owned wine shop run by a master-certified sommelier.

As you enter the shop, you’ll find yourself enchanted by the display of floor-to-ceiling wine bottles, carefully arranged among the brick walls and on smaller displays around the floor. Sorted by country and wine type, it’s easy to feel mesmerized by the wide variety of wines that Lucille’s has to offer.

But beyond the beautiful display of wine bottles itself lies the bespoke selection of wines carefully crafted by owner and certified sommelier, Sarah Marshall. Named after her grandmother, whose love for food and cooking was passed down to her, Lucille’s came to the downtown scene of Lynn in February of 2020. To this day, it gives local residents a top restaurant-style sommelier experience combined with the community comfort of your favorite small neighborhood shop.

Every bottle of wine in the shop is unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere in the area, which is done intentionally. The wines are sourced from small, old-world growers from across the globe. This attention to detail will leave you with a one-of-a-kind bottle of wine to impress your dinner guests or enjoy it on your own with a well-paired meal.

Lucille’s combines the experience of buying a bottle of wine with an enjoyable history lesson that you didn’t know you needed. As you can imagine, there are heartwarming stories that come from the growers of each of the vineyards making these special wines.

From the history of where the grapes originated, like how many French, Spanish, and Italian wines arguably originated from Greek crops (who knew?), to the modern techniques of today’s top sommeliers, you’ll have a new appreciation of wine with each sip you take.

You can find yourself traveling to Greece, sampling Semeli ‘Feast” Agiorgitiko filled with the flavor of plums and herbal undertones. Or, take a quick flight over to Portugal where you’ll be met with hints of lime and orange with Aphros ‘Loureiro’ Vinho Verde, whose winemakers harvest from vineyards dating back to the 16th century.
